Which products should I buy?
Before selecting products for a smart home you will then need to determine which products fit your needs and match your budget. That means research and planning. You will need to decide what parts of your home you would like to connect. There are connected cameras, thermostats, speakers, light switches, window shades, and much more. Different companies offer these products with different features, and price points.

How do I set it up?

You must also decide what level of complexity you are looking for in a smart home system. There are systems that are very complex to set up, requiring a certified installer.  There are also many systems that a homeowner can install and program themselves. If you decide to purchase a system you install yourself, Inline offers free assistance for 30 days to help you with setup once the system is installed.  This service gives you peace of mind that you set up your home right, and won’t need to go back and fix anything. We work with established smart home companies like Ring, Lutron, Leviton, and Arlo to help you make the best decision for your home.

Is it Private and Secure?

Understandably, people are concerned about putting cameras, microphones and other technology into their homes. There are questions surrounding security and privacy. There has even been talk about hackers, using cameras to spy on you or even to break in and burglarize your home. However, because this is such a huge issue of safety companies are dealing with it openly and head on! They’ve invested millions of dollars, and countless hours to ensure that their systems are secure and cannot be hacked. Many systems have 5 layers of security or more in order to prevent hacking. It very well may be the MOST secure part of your home. This concerted effort on the part of smart home gadget manufacturers should help you rest easy and feel safe.
